If We Were On A Coffee Date... | heartnatured

I would order an iced coffee, because it’s the only way I take coffee. I mentioned this the other day, but a friend told me about SO Delicious Mint Chocolate Coconut Milk. My friends, one can drink it straight, but it is quite wonderful with coffee. I’m a little bummed it’s only a seasonal item, but I may or may not have bought two cartons this morning at Whole Foods. Sorry not sorry.

I would tell you about our New Year’s weekend trip to Colorado. We’ll hang out with family, ski, and laugh a lot. I’ve never been out West, so I’m psyched. I might also already have a list of items I want to pack.

I would ask you about your favorite Christmas tradition. Every December I reflect on my favorite family traditions, and so many sweet and funny memories come to mind. As my sister and I were growing up, we’d wake up, meet at the top of the stairs, and sit antsy as we waited for Mom to free us. I think about having a fancy dinner with name cards and china at my grandmother’s house Christmas night, wearing a new shirt I received that morning, and playing games with cousins.

I would confess that I only recently started watching Downton Abbey, and it didn’t take long to realize what all the hype was about. It’s quite great. I hear another season just premiered?

I would ask you what your favorite book is at the moment, because I’m looking for a new one. I’m currently reading God Is In The Manger, a book about Advent, and Living the Proverbs.

I would ask you how you prioritize exercise during the holidays. And then I would vent about how discouraged I am that my neck isn’t feeling 100% yet (recovering pinched nerve). I haven’t exercised in almost 3 weeks, and I’m missing it. Maybe this week I can start a little easy yoga. I also might go to spin class tomorrow morning. Spin should be easy on the neck, right?

I would tell you how much I enjoyed 2015, and how much I’m looking forward to 2016. This year held a celebratory first-year anniversary trip to New York City with my man, my first organized 10k, real development and growth as a web designer, the healthiest and free and beautiful I’ve ever felt, this blog growing up a little bit, a couple of good friends getting married, more confidence in the kitchen, lots of love and lots of life.

I would ask if you have any 2016 resolutions in mind. I’ve been convicted and challenge with the desire of being a woman of wisdom. I want to learn more about wisdom as a characteristic of God’s. I want to be a path of peace, a tree of life, pleasant and safe by being a woman of wisdom (Proverbs 3). That’s a big one. Another one would be to facilitate more meals in my home, more hosting friends, strangers, groups, etc. I want my home to be a welcoming, safe, comfortable, encouraging place.

Since I can’t enjoy a coffee date with all of you, this will have to do. :)

Happy Christmas week, friends!

Downton Abbey is one of the shows I want to get into in 2016! Does that count as a resolution?! — Lisa | Two Martinis

Haha, Lisa, it does in my book! I find comfort knowing I’m not the ONLY late to the party. :)

I love this post! How fun you get to go to Colorado!

Oh my gosh I just have to say I MISS WHOLE FOODS. The closest thing we have here is a Natural Pantry, and I gotta admit: it’s pretty boring. Whole Foods was my JAM when I lived in the lower 48! Alaska needs to get ON BOARD!
Also, I’m really excited for your trip to CO! I hope you post lots of photos!
Also, also – have you thought about turning this into a link up? I would TOTALLY link up each week.

Allie, I hadn’t thought of making it into a link-up, I was inspired even by another blogger. But I had a lot of fun writing it! And I think it would be fun to see what others would say. Maybe I’ll start fleshing that out. :)

So sad, no Whole Foods! I have only recently started tapping into its marvels.

Amanda, I certainly wouldn’t mind! It’s not originally my idea. :)
Yay! That makes me smile big. Super cool that your man is from Savannah. It’s such a fun and unique city.

      Merry Christmas, friend!
