Every few years a new wellness buzzword starts circulating the internet, among others in 2015, like essential oils, kale, and gluten-free everything, are probiotics. The term didn’t arouse my interest until I tried KeVita drinks. “A family of handcrafted, effervescent and pure certified organic drinks. Powerfully probiotic.” to quote the website.
What are probiotics? The term “probiotic” means “for life.” Probiotics are good bacteria—living microorganisms—like those that live naturally in your digestive tract. via
Do we necessarily need these good bacteria? No, but they can be helpful in digestion and offer protection from harmful bacteria. via
So why do I personally put them in my body? A more efficient system all around. Probiotics help move food through your gut, to put it plainly.
Everything you feel, both physically and emotionally, is now believed to be directly linked to your gut. Simply put, the state of your microbiome and the number of friendly, health-promoting bacteria are pretty much linked to every single system in your body. It determines how efficiently your system runs (including affecting things like your metabolism, immune health, neurotransmitters and the central nervous system, nutrient absorption, inflammation and more). And just because you’re seemingly “healthy” doesn’t mean you can’t benefit from a daily boost of microflora. via
When I tried KeVita for the first time, I kept drinking it for the taste, not because it was powerfully probiotic. But after I did a little research on the topic, I found that it might be a cool addition to my regular diet. I will also confess that staring at a computer all day makes me munchy, and I’m weak when it comes to all things salty, cheesy, or crunchy. This is a fun drink to sip on that’s not water, soda or major caffeine… if you catch my drift.
Each KeVita drink contains live probiotics (4 Billion CFU’s) to help you feel your best every day. They are made with organic fruit and whole plant extracts, and have a whole other slew of facts that make it a drink lots of people can enjoy. I’ve only tried Mango Coconut, because that’s the most appealing one at my local Target, but I’d like to try others.
