Have you noticed the amount of rubbish that’s for sale in the shops around Christmas?
I’m not just talking about all the regular paraphernalia that’s been placed in massive sections near the entry of every shop.
Your kids need a Mrs Claus Santa hat with attached braids, large elf ears and don’t forget a reindeer poo emoji head band. Buy them all! Grab this 6 pack of plastic Christmas themed cups that you’ll use once a year and be sure to get your kids a Rudolf candy dispenser that you’ll throw away the minute the candies are consumed.
It’s mad.
I’m talking specifically about the crafts this time though, and that’s become insane too.
There’s plastic everywhere. I’ve seen reams and reams of Christmas stickers, plastic wreaths and even plastic pinecones to use for crafts (wait, what?!).
Yesterday I saw Christmas confetti too, don’t get me started on confetti!
There are, however, more eco-friendly ways to enjoy festive crafts this season and it’s so much nicer than using or buying anything from the shops.
Santa knows our kids need:
- more nature,
- less plastic and
- more calm, old fashioned fun.
So, I made a Christmas Nature Craft Printable Pack for my kids which provides them with a tactile, sensory wonderland of activities to keep those little fingers happy (in a much more eco-friendly way).
They loved my Nature Arts and Crafts Printable pack but when they saw the Christmas themed version, they squealed with delight.
Whether you still have access to a whole bunch of beautiful natural materials, or you have some secretly stored away for winter, use nature in your festive activities this Christmas.
