As a working mother, I know how hectic life can get, how easy it can be to push nature play down the list of priorities as more urgent tasks take up our attention. But I know in my heart, as you know in yours, that children need quiet time to recharge, need the room to stretch and the silence that holds space for their creativity to develop.
Time in nature is essential to your child's wellbeing. Nature play promotes creativity, gross and fine motor skills and builds resilience. The supporting evidence is growing.
My secret hope though, is that by raising nature-connected kids we’re going to encourage a generation that will love and protect the natural environment.
I believe that every child deserves a connection with their natural world and I’m here to help you make that happen for the children in your life.
That’s what gets me up in the mornings—my passion for finding ways to make it as easy for busy parents and educators to get kids having fun in nature.
I hold an Applied Science degree in Wildlife Biology because I love animals, and a graduate diploma in Education because I want to do the best job I can of teaching kids about nature. I’ve been a zookeeper, a wildlife education officer and an environmental educator, and I combine all the knowledge and skills of those roles here in the activities I share and the tools I create for you.
No matter whether you’re just starting out on your nature-loving journey, or you already get more ‘green’ time than screen time, there’s plenty to inspire you here.
