We all know yoga has many benefits, but I’m sure there are plenty of kids out there—especially the ones that are always on the go—who would struggle to follow a yoga routine from start to finish!
What I love about this pack of yoga cards, aside from the fun, kid-friendly poses, is that there’s no routine required. Just pick a card at random and off you go! Your child’s yoga practice can be as long or as short as they like depending on their mood that day, how much time you have and a thousand other factors.
Nature yoga will:
- Encourage a child’s connection to the natural world
- Strengthen a child’s connection to place
- Enhance their knowledge of the natural world through movement, and
- Stimulate their senses
Before we dive in too deep, I want to make it clear that I’m not an expert in yoga.
I am an expert in building connections with wildlife and the natural world, and these nature yoga cards will certainly do that, especially if you practise these poses outside.
I did collaborate with some lovely friends (thank you) who have been enjoying the benefits of yoga for many years to help me develop this pack.
Although as a family we’re only beginners, making these cards and practising these poses with my three daughters has opened our eyes to the benefits of yoga, and not just through nature connection. The changes in their mindsets have been phenomenal.
The therapeutic benefits of yoga for children.
Just take a look at all the goodness yoga can bring:
- Yoga refines body awareness, balance and coordination
- Children grow in strength and flexibility
- It develops a child’s focus and concentration
- Yoga boosts self-esteem and confidence
- And it helps children develop techniques that strengthen self regulation
Bring together the joy of nature and the benefits of yoga and you have an activity that kids will enjoy while building life-long resilience.

12 Nature Yoga Cards
Here are some fun ways to use your nature cards:
- Shuffle the deck, then turn each card over one by one, doing the poses as you go. Then shuffle
the deck again and start over! - Pick cards at random from the middle of the stack, doing the poses as you go.
- Spread the cards out on the ground in a big circle so the children can walk from one to the next,
giving their legs a stretch between each pose. - Use it as a calm, relaxing activity to start the day off right.
- Pull out a card as a transition between activities, perfect to use within an early childhood setting.
- Print two sets and you have your own nature yoga snap cards.
- Set them up at a desk or nature tables as an invitation to play.
To mix up the activity, use the dice provided in the pack. This brings in some added surprise and a little extra fun to your nature yoga practice. Roll the dice and see what poses to do next!

Can you send me the pack by mail as my printer does not print colour
Hi Nicole,
I’m not able to do that, sorry. You could save the files to a SD card, or USB and take it down to your local printer shop. They do fairly cheap colour printing.
Warmly,
Penny
