If We Were On A Coffee Date (Now A Monthly Post)

Posted in lifestyle

Doing a link-up for the first time, I don’t know what I’m doing. To say the least. And I’m fine with that, but it’s taken me a little time to figure out what I want it to be. I’ve decided to make it a monthly post, in the hope that more friends and lovely strangers can join in without throwing a kink in their possibly already filled post schedules.

So, if we were on a coffee date…

I might be adventuring into the green tea world of Starbucks. Do you like green tea? I think I could do it if it had a peach twang or something.

I would tell you how I’ve caught the spark of home decorating and organizing. I feel like it comes in random waves – is it like that for you? Right now I’m in a season of decorator’s buzz (watching the entire season of Fixer Upper in about two weeks probably only adds to this buzz.. channeling my inner Joanna Gaines). I’m daydreaming about art for the wall, and prints to frame, and how to organize our clutter.

I would ask you if you’ve ever watched Fixer Upper, and do you like Joanna’s style? Because I do. A lot.

I would excitedly tell you that I think physical therapy is genuinely helping my neck. Hooray! Praise the Lord. I think I’m finally on the road to real recovery, I think. I keep giving myself the patience speech, though, so hallelujah for grace in that.

Happy Monday, friends! Time for another coffee date, I hope you’ll join us with your own post this week. :)

If we were on a coffee date…

I’d make sure we were at Dunkin’ Donuts because I am seriously hooked on the iced coffee with caramel swirl.

I’d confess I downed two cups of cookies ‘n’ cream ice cream last night. Not at all ashamed, it was delicious. Ice cream is one of my favorite sweet treats, by far. Growing up I was a classic chocolate gal, then I started dating J and got hooked on mint chocolate chip, now I crave cookies ‘n’ cream. What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

I’d ask you if you have any big travel plans for the spring? We’re trying to map out our 2016, strategizing our days off, etc.

I’d tell you that I am eager to meet with the neurologist this week about my neck. And how much I’m asking Jesus for help with a good attitude. I’m a little weary, guys.

I’d ask what you’re currently reading about in the Bible? I’ve been reading about Job, and to be honest, it’s been a little depressing. But in the end, and throughout, God is mighty, powerful, loving, and sovereign.

I’d ask what tv shows you keep up with? I finally am caught up with Downton Abbey, so I try and keep up each week. My favorite show/indulgence, however, is Once Upon A Time. J doesn’t like it because of the creative liberties it takes that he thinks is weird (Rumpel and Belle, for example). I actually like the creativity!

I’d ask for advice on curtain shopping. It’s a bit overwhelming! We’re looking for three rooms, and you can see almost every window from wherever you stand. Tricky. Do they have to match? Should we match two rooms? Does it truly matter? I’d like any helpful advice from you experts.

I’d tell you how much I admire professional painters. My coworkers and I painted our office this weekend, and man, it’s quite a task. We’re go-getters so it only took us a few hours, but I don’t think it’s my gift. Do you like to paint?

Let’s catch up!

If We Were On A Coffee Date #04 | heartnatured

Back again for another virtual coffee date! Learn more about it here.

If we were on a coffee date…

I would order a sweet tea. Surprising? I’ve had a crazy craving for it lately. J gave me a YETI cup for Christmas and sometimes I get a half sweet/half unsweet tea from Sonic and sip on it throughout the morning at work.

I would excitedly tell you we bought some great furniture over the weekend! A nice bookcase and corner ‘tower’ type case for the living room, and a vintage tea cart for the dining room. I underestimated how much I would enjoy decorating and brainstorming for a home. I confess it sometimes seems overwhelming, but it’s fun.

I would ask if you like to get out for an adventure over the weekend or stay in to relax? I’ve realized I like a little of both. I like a planned outing, an adventure, but also unhurried time to read, clean, draw, or nap.

I’d share with you a desire to get out and take more photos with my Canon camera. Working full time, especially in the winter, doesn’t leave a great deal of light to play with. It’s a bit of a bummer, but the excitement simply builds up for springtime. I also can’t wait to use the pancake lens I recently bought.

I would ask if you’re a fan of the Piko dress/shirt. Have you seen these yet? They’re trending. My sister has probably 7 of them. I recently acquired a black one and I’ve worn it a lot. I’d like to get a bright color.

I would ask if you’re a planner. Even in such a digital age, I still enjoy keeping my paper book planner. It’s fun for my creative mind to organize thoughts, use stickers and various colors. #nerdstatus

I would confess my obsession with chapstick. Especially in the wintertime! I probably have three in my purse right now, and usually find one in every jacket pocket. Too much, you think? J teases me about it.

Happy Monday, friends. Take all week to link up your own post! Can’t wait to read.
